[edit] Rules

Contender and Gladiator are placed at opposite ends inside a three metre square cage with elasticated webbing on the sides and top. On the base is a red safety mat and around the webbing are several hoops. On the whistle, the contender has to evade capture from the Gladiator for 45 seconds in order to receive points by climing around the cage using the netting whilst also trying to grab as many of the hoops as possible. The events gameplay is similar to that of Pendulum in the UK and Australia and Rat Race in South Africa.

Neither Gladiator or contender are allowed to leave the cage until the event ends. Leaving the cage will result in disqualification.

[edit] Sweden

Years active: 2003-2004

Spidercage was only played in the Swedish edition of Gladiators, the last country to film a series of Gladiators before it's 2008 revivals. Currently there are no plans for the UK, US or Australia to adopt the event into their events roster.

Other than Soccer Shootout, this was the only known event not to originate from either America or the UK.
