[edit] Fair use rationale for Heavy metal umlaut

  1. For an article about the use of a special diacritical mark, it is important to provide examples of band logos so that people can see how it is used. This is particularly important for Spinal Tap, since no known languages put an umlaut over an N.
  2. No free or public domain images have been located for this film.
  3. The image is of lower resolution than the original DVD cover (copies made from it will be of inferior quality).
  4. The logo is to suggest the style and usage of an unusual use of Heavy metal umlaut.
  5. The logo is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original film in any way.
  6. Posters and other images from the mockumentary are used on various websites, and its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible than it already is.
  7. The logo's use on Wikipedia is entirely encyclopedic in nature.
