This scene from The Amazing Spider-Man #121 ("The Night Gwen Stacy Died") depicts the death of Spider-Man's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. Since its publication in 1973, this issue has become one of the best-known Spider-Man stories. Many homages to this scene have been created, and it has been the subject of much controversy.
