[edit] Your userpage
Welcome to Wikipedia. I've seen your post to your user page, and I think it might be helpful, since you're a new user, if I point you in the direction of a few policies and guidelines on Wikipedia and what is, and is not, appropriate for inclusion here. May I suggest you have a look at WP:BLP, WP:NPA and WP:BIO? If you have any questions feel free to leave a message for me on my talk page. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 16:44, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

In terms of leaving me a message, yes, you're doing the right thing by editing my talk page and adding your message to the bottom - as you will have seen, this adds a "You have a new message" box to the top of the page.
Whilst I am sorry to hear of your difficulties, Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia - it is not the correct forum for you to either air your views on a particular individual, nor attempt to get back at them - that's why I posted the links above to the three guidelines which are of relevance in this instance. You will find that if you do breach those guidelines you will be warned, and if you persist, you will be blocked. Please remember that I make no comment on the position in which you say you find yourself, I'm just pointing you in the right direction of what Wikipedia is and what Wikipedia is not. Feel free to leave me a comment on my talk page if you have any questions. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please see this page, and in particular this section dealing with the privacy of individual's information. In this instance you would need to provide independent proof of the individual's date of birth - at this stage this is provided through a link to the Internet Movie Database. You have changed the date of birth but have not provided an appropriate citation to justify your change - have a look at WP:Cite. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:15, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Further to your third message, you haven't provided the proof. You've merely pasted over some information which no-one else would have any way of knowing whether or not it was correct or not. The link to IMDB provides independent verifiability, which your edit didn't. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:17, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Signing comments
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:31, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
