User:SpellCheckerBot/Spellcheck Header

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL BOT, THERE WILL BE ERRORS.

  • Though the attempt is to minimize errors, there will be errors, especially in the early going.
  • All edits you do as a result of working from output of this bot are your responsibility.
  • This bot will recognize international spellings, so color, and colour are fine.
    • Please drop a note by the creator (User:Eagle 101) if for any reason its reporting correct spellings as incorrect because of internationalization issues.

This bot will output articles and misspelled words, along with suggestions.

  • It ignores all words in blue wikilinks, and all matches of those words, so if it outputs a name it might be an indicator that the article could do with some wikification, if its a minor person, just ignore, and or report the name to the creator of the bot.
    • Depending on results, common names may get added to a spelling database as well, but the bot should do a good job of filtering most names.

The output format is:

  • Article |-| 0000000 : w0rd |-| word | words | etc.

The article title is first, that is where the bot found the error, follows is the location of the word, (word number as seen by the bot), then the misspelled word, and after that are suggested replacements.

Any and all suggestions on improvement are welcome, just drop a note by the creator's talk page. —— Eagle101Need help? 09:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Known things to watch for (in turns of the bot working properly):

  • Names - some may or may not be wikilinked.
  • Proper nouns - if they are not wikilinked, the bot may report them if it is not a common place/thing/person name.
  • words with '-' in them, such as 'pre-recorded'. Some may just need the dash removed, or a space in the place of the dash.

When you fix or ignore words, please remove them from the list, when a section is emptied, remove the section title.
