Template talk:Spellchecker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To use this template, go to Special:Mypage/monobook.js and add (on the first line, {{subst:spellchecker}} and save it. After refreshing your javascript, subsequent edit pages will have a [Check spelling] button which will send the last 4KB of the edit box window to the toolserver, where it gets run through 'ispell' returning the results to you.
Features still desired:
- It does not (currently) return the corrections made in that separate window, to the original edit window.
- It does not highlight the term in-place, nor in context.
- It does not suggest corrections, only identifies likely misspellings.
- It does not have a "previous 4KB" button to expand the amount checked. (But you can cut-and-paste as much as you link into the resulting PHP window.)
- It does not graphically identify the terms found, it only lists the 'ispell' results.
- It has no "Wiki-specific" additional dictionary yet.
