Talk:Sperry Cline
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I added a citation for the statement that it was one of the most talked about trials of the era. The History Channel had a documentary on Gunanoot, written by Monty Basset and some of his comments can be read online: "Standing on the other side of Gunanoot was Stewart Henderson, Canada’s top criminal defense lawyer. With Henderson at the helm, the case immediately became high-profile and Simon a cause célèbre, lionized as a superman who had survived in the harshest wilderness in North America. Stories ran in all of the provincial papers and even the Globe and Mail".
- If another citation needs to be found, I can probably dig up a few things, but certainly the case was high profile and widely talked about in BC and the story is still told today, (in about three or four different versions). But Basset's story brings up another point, outside of Gunanoot and Cline, how come we don't have an article of this Stuart or Stewart Henderson lawyer if he was the best defense lawyer in Canada in 1919? I've never been able to find much on him.CindyBo 18:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
