[edit] SDU arm-patch
There has been a couple of pictures floating around the net claiming to be the official insignia of the SDU; one is an arm-patch depicting a SDU trooper and the other is a picture of a shield depicting a tiger with wings and with the HKP logo above it. Can anyone confirm for me if the 2nd picture (which looks like it's ripped straight from the "Final Option" and "First Option" movies) is an official SDU insignia? --Seng Yew 23:36, 02 October 2006 (UTC +8)
- Can you show a link? Perhaps I can tell. Ominae 2:52, 5 October 2006
- Here's the image of the Tiger emblem, screenshot from the Final Option Movie. --Seng Yew 23:21, 08 October 2006 (UTC +8)
[edit] Balaclava
- Can anyone who know the reason (and purpose) why SDU members wear balaclava in operations write something in the article? Thanks! Davilaser 05:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Just like any military or police CT or special forces operation, to conceal their identities. You don't want the enemy to know how you like, right?
-
- I think that enemy alone does not convincingly make those to Special forces to wear balaclava in every single operation. Soldier, police and presecutor all deals with enemy, criminals and the like. But they don't conceal their faces (becuase their authorised by government, I suppose). Only criminals like assassinators and robber usually conceal their faces. So what I don't understand is, why the government authoriosed force like SDU need to conceal their faces???219.78.179.159 13:51, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Perhaps they got it from the SAS.
-
- And why exactly SAS need to wear balaclava?? I am still puzzled...--Davilaser 23:37, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- All I know is they wear it under their gas masks when they do CRW work. Probably SOP.
-
- And what is CRW? and SOP?? By the way, could you sign your comment, I don't know if i am talking with the same persom as above....., or not ?? Thanks!--Davilaser 11:08, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

- CRW - Counter Revolutionary Warfare. SOP - Special Operating Procedure. I'm not an expert, but maybe you should ask someone who's in the HKPD. All police and military units do practice. So I don't think a lot of people question this anyway. 70.68.46.180 00:21, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, imagine who weird could that be if I went into the Report Room of Hong Kong Police. The reciptionist asked, 'Can I help you, sir?' And I said, " Hi, emmm, I just would like to find out why SDU wear balaclava during operation??".....
- Anyway, thanks for ur advice.--Davilaser 01:50, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Obviously, they wear balaclavas to conceal their identities. Why else would they wear it during operations? To look cool? There are enemies who believes in vengeance so they probably will seek revenge on those SDU members if they do happen to know their identities such as their face etc. Eikichi 00 22:42, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
