Special Occasion is the second studio album from R&B singer Bobby Valentino. Valentino co-wrote over three quarters of the album, which also features songwriting and production from Timbaland, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Sean Garrett, Tim & Bob, Don Vito, Bryan-Michael Cox and Dre & Vidal.[1][2]
The album was set to be released on December 12, 2006, but was delayed until May 8, 2007. Although "Wreck" was given some airplay in advance of the album's release,[citation needed] Special Occasion's first official single was the Jerkins-produced track "Turn the Page". The ballad features Valentino singing about trust and taking risks in a relationship. The album features guest appearances by Ludacris, Timbaland and Fabolous. The second single from the album is "Anonymous", featuring and produced by Timbaland.
Special Occasion debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at number three, selling about 92,000 copies in its first week, just over one-half of his previous album's first-week sales.[3] The album eventually reached the number one position on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.[4][5]
