SPEA

SPEA is an Italian company that designs and manufactures Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for testing microchips and electronic boards.

The Company, founded in 1976 by Luciano Bonaria, who still is its President, today employs about 450 people, distributed among the Italian headquarter in Volpiano (Turin) and 24 offices in the worldwide markets, such as USA, Germany, Great Britain, France, Israel, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada, China and India.

The main application fields for the SPEA's equipment are the following:

Telecommunications
Aerospace
Defence

In all these fields, the SPEA's equipment work to ensure that the electronic devices haven't got faults and work correctly, without failures.

Testers for electronic boards are divided into:

"Bed of nails" testers
Flying probe testers, that are able to test the boards when the density of components on the boards is very high (so, components cannot be contacted by using a bed of nails test system). The high speed of the latest flying probe makes them suitable also for high production volumes.
