Welcome to My RfA Standards Page, basically, a collection of my RfA thoughts, standards and rationales. Although I sometimes make exceptions, these are my basic standards and if you want my vote, this is what you'll need to do. -- Spawn Man
[edit] General Standards
- Edit count - Edit counts are important to me and give a general idea of what you've been up to.
- You must have at least 3,000 edits. I'll take anywhere between 1,500 and 3,000, but the higher range is preferable.
- You must have been active at least 6 months. This is not negotiable.
- You must have an even spread of edits to all the main spaces; If we went by the 3,000 edit mark, you should have at least 1,000 to the article Mainspace, at least 750-1,000 in the Wikipedia name space, 250-500 in the Talk namespace and whatever's left is up to you. No namespace should be higher than the Mainspace.
- You shouldn't have a high level of user namespace edits, nor should you have a large amount of edits going to the user talk namespace.
- You should have at least one article which you've edited a large amount of times - if you only edit lots articles once or twice, it shows you either are a WikiGnome and mainly correct spelling etc or that you don't have much to add in terms of articles.
- What you edit - If you're what I call a social editor, someone who spends all their time talking to other users and occasionally editing Wikipedia namespaces, you're more likely to get the chop from me.
- You shouldn't spend a large amount of time editing your user page - make it pretty and leave it alone!
- You shouldn't spend your time fart-arsing around with extra activities such as Motto of the Day, Department of Fun etc if you are not keeping up a high level of article or other namespace editing.
- You should contribute to at least one Wikiproject.
- You should have a range of places you edit, not just one topic or area.
- Of course you should edit XfDs, Noticeboards, RfAs, etc etc - that's what admins do most of and you really need to have some experience in this area.
- Achievements - Credentials are always good.
- You need to have at least one FA or GA. Article writing is very important to me.
- You need to have at least two DYKs.
- You need at least one barnstar - this shows you are either liked or have done something worthy of it. Self-awarded stars aren't acceptable.
- Civility - Of course, admins need to be able to help in edit wars, conflicts and meditation, as well as deal with newbies.
- You should have welcomed at least one person.
- No newcomer biting is acceptable.
- You shouldn't have a good faith block in the last 6 months.
- You should maintain a high level of civility.
- You should not be on probabtion of any kind in the last 6 months.
- You should have never been blocked for vandalism, but if there's been some serious changing of ways, I might reconsider.
- Other - Other stuff changes my view as well!
- I couldn't care less about edit summaries, but if you set your preferences to automatic summary reminder, I'll accept that instead.
- You must be able to spell perfectly on most occasions.
- You must call me Oh Supreme One. ;)
