My name is Daniel Walker and I am a third-year doctoral student studying mathematics at the University of North Texas. My field of study is set theory, but I also enjoy mathematical logic and topology. I finished my undergraduate studies at UCLA in June, 2005 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
I was born on August 9, 1983 in Walnut Creek, CA. I spent the first 22 years of my life living in the most beautiful city in the world, Dublin, CA, but I now live in Denton, TX.
My favorite movies are (in no particular order except that the first is my favorite): Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Back to the Future, Return of the Jedi, Almost Famous, A Few Good Men, and Ishtar. My favorite author is the great C.S. Lewis. My favorite novels are (in descending order), Till We Have Faces, The Great Divorce, Ender's Game, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and Neverwhere.
As one should be able to guess from my top two novels, I am a very devout Christian. May the name of the Lord be praised!
P.S. I am currently looking for Descriptive Set Theory by Yiannis Moschovakis. If you know where I can buy a copy, please let me know.
