Template talk:Space colonization

[edit] Threshhold for inclusion
Recently, a substantial number of entries have been added to this template for which no serious consideration of colonization has been raised. Some are redlinked; those which are not are generally very short articles (sometimes) describing physical conditions on the body and listing appearances in science fiction.
The main articles in this series primarily address the serious, scientific viewpoint. I am inclined to restrict the template to such topics; perhaps a different means of organizing wholly ficitional colonization programs could be arranged? Otherwise, it seems possible that nearly ever significant object in the solar system could have a minimal "Colonization of ..." page. Inclusion of all such topics in this template, in my view, would damage its navigational utility. Serpent's Choice 16:30, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say damaged, but I do feel that all those moons made the navigation cluttered. Perhaps if there was an article called "Colonization of Moons/Satellites," then all the major moons of the solar system may be listed with their physical conditions and science fiction colonization. Also, Io and Ganymede are missing and there are serious, scientific viewpoints for their colonization. Overall, if any of these topics are never addressed, then no one will ever see that they need attention and the knowledge will never be contributed. So I propose that there should be at least 3 more articles: Colonization of Io, Colonization of Ganymede, and Colonization of the other moons. --RingManX 06:21, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
