I believe there is a major error in this article. STRFs in the auditory system typically refer to spectrotemporal receptive fields, NOT spatiotemporal receptive fields, as the receptive field for a neuron responding to auditory stimuli would have an auditory frequency component along with its temporal component.

This is even mentioned in the figure, which is of a spectrotemporal RF. Sirshane13 03:15, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
