Space Station Seventh Grade is the first novel by Jerry Spinelli, published in 1982. It was inspired by an odd event when one of his six children ate some fried chicken that he had been saving for the next day.

Seventh-grader Jason Herkimer tells his tale of life before, during, and after seventh grade. The chapter titles describe the main focus of the story told in the chapter. Throughout seventh grade he has to deal with things like monster-size pimples, goody-goody Marceline Mcallister, being the slack-off the football team, and trying to impress his crush Debbie Breen.
