Space Age Bachelor Pad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Space Age Bachelor Pad is a sub-genre of retro lounge music. The phrase was coined by Byron Werner to describe recorded music characterized by dramatic contrasts of instrumental range and vocal effects, as well as exaggerated stereo effects (sometimes called ping-pong effects). The rise of this music form coincided with the introduction of stereophonic records in the late 1950s. Recording producers associated with this style of music include Juan García Esquivel, Dick Schory, and Enoch Light.
