SpaceQuest, Ltd. is a spacecraft components and engineering company located in Fairfax, Virginia, which focuses on the operations of small satellites.
The company builds spacecraft components, primarily by modifying off-the-shelf components and launching them. If the component functions successfully in space, it is labeled as "Space Qualified". They also design and outfit complete spacecrafts, many of which are amateur radio satellites, which can be accessed by users worldwide.[1]
Among SpaceQuest's customers are universities, amateur radio clubs and the United States Air Force Academy.[1][2] Some of their component projects include:
- FalconSAT 1 & 3, student-built satellites designed by cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
- AprizeSat 1 & 2, commercial communications satellites for Aprize Satellite.
- AO-51, amateur radio satellite designed by AMSAT.
- Genesis I, prototype inflatable space habitat built by Bigelow Aerospace.
- Genesis II, the second prototype inflatable space craft built by Bigelow Aerospace.
