• 1981 - A Vostok rocket launches a Tselina spy satellite
• 1983 - A Soyuz-U launches a Zenit-6U spy satellite
• 1985 - Space Shuttle Discovery lands at the Kennedy Space Center, completing mission STS-51-C.
• 1989 - An Ariane 2 launches Intelsat 5A F-15, a communication satellite
• 1999 - An Athena-1 launches ROCSAT-1, Taiwan's first satellite.
• 2000 - A Minotaur rocket launches a collection of satellites, including JAWSAT, OCSE, OPAL, and FalconSat-1.
