Talk:Soxman

I have seen the proposed deletion of this article and agree that it needs to be cleaned up. I believe this is being worked on. However, I disagree with the proposal for deletion being based on relevance. The character being discussed on this page is in fact a real person, who may not have national notoriety but is in fact a Chicago celebrity. The photos enclosed with the article write-up contain a Cover Story on the character from the Chicago Red Eye, a commuter supplement of the Chicago Tribune with a circulation over 200,000. It also contains an image of an article written by the individual. While one link may be to a myspace page, plenty of national, regional and local celebrities have myspace pages. His page also contains links to a news segment that was done on him, and an appearance in the opening segment of ESPN. The page also contains several photos of what appears to be fans as well as various newspaper clippings which he appeared in. The sportsbank.net web page is not a personal web page, but an actual link to a webzine, that has articles written by the individual. Relevance of person? In researching similar profiles, I found that there is an article page on a character called Andy the Clown, who essentially fit a similar profile to this person. I move that the formatting indeed needs to be corrected, but the existence of the person has been proven and is relevant. --152.132.13.1 (talk) 16:10, 21 February 2008 (UTC)A Chicago resident and White Sox Fan

It appears as though the page was cleaned up and improved significantly. There are two links to images on the page, one of which shows him on the COVER of the Chicago Red Eye, and the other has an article in the Red Eye that he appears to have written. Also, the sportsbank webzine has several posts by Soxman, and an interview archive, where he was interviewed along with several other sports figures. Finally, on his myspace page, there is a You Tube link to a WGN News Piece on him. WGN is a nationally sindicated super station in Chicago. I'm not sure how to directly link to these pieces, but it more than validates the character's notabilty. This page should not be removed. --99.141.216.223 (talk) 16:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Another Soxman Supporter-
