"Sowing the Seeds of Love" is a 1989 hit song by popular British group Tears for Fears. The song reached #2 in the US singles chart and #5 in the UK singles chart, as well as reaching #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks list in the US. It was the first and biggest hit from their 1989 album The Seeds of Love, also reaching the Top 5 in Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands. The song is notable for being an intentional pastiche of The Beatles.[citation needed]

The music video, directed by Jim Blashfield, won two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards - Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects.[1]

Rick Parfitt Jr. re-recorded the song in 2007 as the title music for Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton's dating show, "Holly & Fearne Go Dating", which aired on UK commercial channel ITV1 in September 2007.
