[edit] Battle of Talikota

Sir, I corrected a mistake you made in your edits. The article talks of Tirumala Deva Raya, the Vijayanagar king who tacitly accepted the freedom of Tamil Nayaks, not about Tirumali Nayak himself.thanksDineshkannambadi 22:14, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Free E-Book

I had to remove those entries from the two articles in which you inserted them. The Wikipedia Manual of Style determines what can go where in an article. Vijayanagara Empire is presently undergoing Feature Article review. The Feature Article reviewers will not allow such a violation. So I moved your reference to the talk page. The other article, Origin of Vijayanagara Empire, is still in the development stage, so I moved your reference under External links. I do not know where the FA editors will ultimately allow it. Sincerely, Mattisse 12:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A request

Please dont add your "Free Ebook" link to Vijayanagara Empire. The article is going through FAC review and your link sa such violates wiki policy.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 14:39, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vijayanagara Empire article

Hi Southernstar! As you can see from the template at the top of the Vijayanagara Empire talk page, this article is being reviewed for Featured Article status. The editors referred to are the FA article reviewers who oppose an article for Feature Article status if they feel it violates their criteria. See Wikipedia:Featured article candidates and Wikipedia:Featured article criteria. To qualify as a Feature Article a strict format must be followed. Your entry violates the FA format rules. Specifically, see Wikipedia:Guide to layout#Standard appendices. Sincerely, Mattisse 14:36, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vijayanagara -Ebook

Sir, I believe the ebook link you added violates MoS. Please discuss with an Admin who will give you more details. Your edit was removed not by me but another user. Because it is in other articles does not mean it is ok. We want to keep only useful info and unnecessary linking should also be avoided. This is what I have learnt from my seniors. However if you really want the e-link there please discuss with user:Nichalp who is a senior level wikipedian and he will explain. thanks.Dineshkannambadi 14:47, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Sir, It is not I who makes the rules. A very senior reviewer User:Nichalp objected to it being there. Robert Sewell's book has already been cited in the very first few citations. We dont want this minor issue to hold up the FA review which means all our efforts over the months will be wasted. Please discuss with user:Nichalp and see what he says.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 15:05, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps if you could include it in the external link section than it may be ok.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 15:57, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Mr.Dineshkannambadi deletes everything and objects everything that comes in his way of falsifying history. He wants each great empires to be tagged as Kannada empires. (user:sarvabhaum) 59.95.31.85 10:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I read your message on the talk page of User talk:Sarvabhaum and felt sorry that you had to make such a big issue of the e-book topic. I am aware User talk:Sarvabhaum has been going around defaming me. Admins have been notified and are watching him too because this is against wiki policy. His account has been blocked temporarily. The list of references already includes a reference to Robert Sewell. Robert Sewell has already been quoted in citation #1 itself. It took us several months to build this article which in many ways brings out the glory of South India as a whole. You mentioned that you will put the e-book back at some other time. What may I ask you are trying to achieve? Yes, wikipedia is a place where anyone can make edits, but we are expected to follow certian guidelines which helps us become good wikipedians who can work as a group. I have nothing personally against Robert Sewell, I was just requesting you to do what the reviewer on FA committe told us. I feel sorry that we Indians cant appreciate the hard work of others and are bent upon squabbling. Just my view. I hope you can see the hard work put in by others. thanks.Dineshkannambadi 21:43, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
One more personal request, please stay away from people who are only bent on causing fueds between users, for personal gain.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 22:08, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi u might understand the tactics of Mr.Kannambadi soon. Poor guy is suffering from inferiority complex and goes on vandalising history articles of other state to prove that all great empire were of Kannada origin! Equipped by Karnataka govt approved trash books of unknown historians he has targetted Yadavas of devagiri and few Telugu and Tamil articles. He is shmalessly assisted by his loyal friends and seniors. Well, u will come across about it in Vijayanagara empire too. As per my ltd knowledge VE is Telugu origin and Krishnadevaraya is of Tulava origin. At least that is written in my UGC recognised text book. Article speaks everything about kannada! Its fun reading the chronicles of a psychopath! User:Sarvabhaum
Hi i no knowledge of southern kingdoms. I have read more about medieval history of Maharashtra which is being ruined by few users here. I am intrested in Thanjavur Marathas history though. {{User:Sarvabhaum]]

[edit] Aravidu Dynasty

Hi. I see you have done a good job in expanding the article for each king. Keep it up.Dineshkannambadi 15:42, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nayakas

Good infomation. Clearly you have lots of enthusiasm for history (like me). This is what I suggest.

  • create a summary page for Aravidu Dynasty giving brief details of their migration from Vijayanagara to Penukonda, Chandragiri, Vellore. Right now it just contains the names of kings.
  • Create a detailed page for Nayaks of Tamil Nadu, linking to the various Nayak pages (Tanjore/Madurai/Vellore/Gingee etc) as subarticles. It is obvious that the Nayaks did a lot for TN culture (irrespective where they came from). Build a main page article for Nayaks of TN (which is right now a list of Nayak clans) detailing on Governance, Society, Economy, Administration, Literature, Religion etc in the same format as Vijayanagara Empire. This topic is worth becoming a FA. Bring in excellent images from Vellore fort, Perumal temple not to forget Tanjore temples etc).

You seem to have the book sources, so finding info should not be difficult.I can scan and email you a 2 page detail on Aravidu Dynasty if you need a second source (Dr. Kamath) but Prof KAN Sastri is also good (Which also I own). Being a history buff, I buy, collect and read history books other than travelling to historical locations. Look at the list of my reference sources on my user page. If you need any info in the future from any of these growing list of books, feel free to contact me.Dineshkannambadi 16:06, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Many of these places you mention are on my radar also and not too far from Banglaore.Dineshkannambadi 16:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Madurai Temple in 1870's.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Madurai Temple in 1870's.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:49, 14 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Madurai Temple in 1870's.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Madurai Temple in 1870's.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:26, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Marudha Nayagam

An editor has nominated Marudha Nayagam, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marudha Nayagam and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
