What was the original fuel?
Gravity. It was a hydroelectric plant, that's why it was built right next to St. Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River. Later, it was converted to burn either coal or wood, though it mostly used coal (wood was no longer in such great supply in the Minneapolis area in the 1930's).T-bonham 02:20, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
