[edit] Southampton blog removal controversy
- The removal of the link of the blog has made the West University Examiner, a local Houston newspaper: http://www.examinernews.com/articles/2007/03/07/west_university/news/news05.txt WhisperToMe 04:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I read the article. I don't see what the issue is. Clearly the author didn't want to waste time arguing for a reposting of their unused blog-link on this website. So much for them trying to use WikiPedia as a promotion tool.Deatonjr 04:47, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

- I frequently remove blog (and other inappropriate links) from Wikipedia:WikiProject Houston articles. I do this based on guidelines at WP:EL. I do this to help improve articles at Wikipedia. Most blog and other external links that get added to the articles are advertising. If the editor disagreed with my removal of the blog link added to the Southampton article (based on my interpretation of WP:EL), then the issue should have been discussed at the talk page. This is usually how concerns are addressed and disagreements are resolved at Wikipedia. Thank you, Postoak 05:57, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- lol, maybe they were also miffed that Southhampton, Houston, Texas, falls under the LOW-priority Houston articles, too. :-)Deatonjr 09:10, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
