Talk:South Yorkshire Coalfield
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A few things: I am not not a
- Miner
- Geologist
- Geographer
- Industrial Historian
All I have done is read a few books and tried to condense what I have learned into the article and I hope I have laid a reasonble foundation and I look forward others contibutions
I know the article needs some inprovements
- Maps - does anybody have any copyright free ones?
- In text references - The next Wiki skill I need to learn
- Photos - Does anybody have any good copyright free photos of mines in the area?
There is plenty that could be added to the text and futher spin off articles Gmac101 12:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Glad you did it too. It is was a subject that was glaringly absent from wikipedia. I'm going to copy edit it a bit now.BaseTurnComplete (talk) 21:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Moving page from The S..Y..C.. to S..Y..C..
I've just moved the page to give it the title without "The", as per WP:NAMEsection 1.9 which says
- "If the definite or indefinite article would be capitalized in running text, then include it at the beginning of the page name. This would be the case for the title of a work such as a novel. Otherwise, do not include it at the beginning of the page name." (didn't realise there was a character limit on edit comments - half of it got lost). In the text of the article it's referred to as "the South Yorkshire Coalfield". PamD 10:01, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
