Talk:South Carolina Democratic primary, 2008
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Seems there is a line that seems to mistake this page as the Republican primary. (mentioning McCain's victory). Going to move this over to the appropriate Republican page if it isn't there already. -- Adam Theo.
Seems like Hillary won with 33.3% and 186,857 votes, according to New York Times Magazine...[1]. Wikipedia may not be a crystal ball, but apparently NY Times is! Terjen (talk) 07:00, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Results
Should the results be constantly updated as precincts come in, or should it just wait untill 100% are reporting? -Bigvinu —Preceding comment was added at 21:38, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- The precedent based on the other primary/caucus articles seems to be constant updates, with the caveat that only x% are reporting where x<100. Skomorokh confer 22:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, but is "Counties won" and "National Delegates won" not going to be updated until the primary is 100% reporting? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigvinu (talk • contribs) 22:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Whatever we have reliable sources for, and have editors willing to update, usually goes in, with the caveat. CNN is a reliable source for overall vote shares and delegates, but I don't know of any reliable source for counties won. Skomorokh confer 23:06, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you go deeper into the results on CNN's election center they track county results and show the winners there Pat (talk) 23:42, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Kennedy
Supposedly Caroline Kennedy is going to endorse Obama in a NYT op-ed tomorrow - I still can't find an authoritative online source, though I believe its been said on the networks. Joshdboz (talk) 01:37, 27 January 2008 (UTC) Nevermind, I've got it [2]. Joshdboz (talk) 01:56, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Super Delegates
I would think it would be useful if the super delegates were listed, to be held accountable for their voting. This would be useful in all states. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TexasPhil (talk • contribs) 14:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Delegates
I made the calculations using the results by congressional districts and got a difference of one delegate, namely 26 for Obama and 11 for Hillary. I am pretty sure I did not make a mistake, but I am sure I could not place these results in WP until I have some source for it. Did anyone find the same flaw? Or maybe a source?Chico (talk) 17:56, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know how the delegates are exactly awarded, but CNN continues to say 25 - 12 - 8. 18:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joshdboz (talk • contribs)
caught my mistake, I was calculating both PLEO and at large delegates as a single category. That would make a change in one delegate. Nevermind. Chico (talk) 21:32, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Last Primary before Super Tuesday?
From the Article: "For Democrats, it was also the last primary before 22 states host their primaries or caucuses on February 5, 2008 (Super Tuesday)."
Strictly speaking, this is not true. Though stripped of it's nominating delegates for the convention, Florida is still holding it's Democratic primary on January 29th. Perhaps a mention of this is called for? –147.253.166.94 (talk) 16:12, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
