Souvenir (indie rock band)

Souvenir is an indie rock band that was formed in 1999 in Spain. An American edition of their mini-CD followed (Shelflife Records) and they started to forge a name in the Asian independent market. In 2001, their first, full-length CD, 'Points de Suspension' was released. Special editions of the record were released in Japan (Tone Vendor records) and the US (Shelflife).

‘Recto/Verso’, their second CD, was released in 2003. Admirers of the band included Johan Angergard (Club 8) or Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian. The band was featured in several international compilations as well.

While preparing their next record, Souvenir songwriter, Jaime, was commissioned by French chanteuse Françoiz Breut to write songs for her 'Une Saison Volée', her next album. The result was the song ‘Ciudad del Mar’. Souvenir’s own record was released in 2005. ‘Des équilibres’ featured pop songs tinged with an acoustic mood of pianos, mellow guitars and lap steel guitars.In 2006 they collaborated on the Brian Wilson tribute album 'Caroline Now!', which featured Belle And Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub, Saint Etienne, The High Llamas and The Pastels.
