[edit] Clubs and Organizations

Southwick-Tolland is known for it's strong emphasis on performing arts. Though they are small, the band and chorus (Now led by Adam Call) have received national recognition over the years, earning superior ratings and trophies from festivals in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Orlando. Their drama program is also said to be "one of the best" in Western Massachusetts. Recently, Southwick-Tolland Performing Arts broke all attendance records when they performed Beauty and the Beast in April of 2007. In 2008 the school will be starting yet another play. This time they are doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show will be in March.

The school also has a number of different successful clubs including:

The Interact Club, As Schools Match Wits Team, The Diversity Club, National Honor Society, The Drama Club, Jazz Band, Math Team, Spanish/French Clubs, Chess Club, Show Choir, Debate Team, SADD, etc.

[edit] Sports

STRHS is active in interscholastic sports.

Rebecca Lobo, a former WNBA player, was a graduate of Southwick-Tolland and still holds the state scoring record of 2,712 points while in high school.

In 2007 and 2008 Southwick won the Western Mass championship and the Division II title in Boys Varsity Track. The team is coached by Dick Atkinson, a local track coaching legend and former math teacher of the school.

Also coached by Dick Atkinson with Ed Martinez is the boys cross-country team with several division titles, the most recent in 2007 with a 12-2 season for the Division II title.

Southwick is probably best known for their wrestling program, which has won the Western Mass Championship in 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The team has produced three individual state champions and its peak performance as a team was 2nd at the State Dual Meet Championship in 2007.

The Southwick Field Hockey program has also produced many Western Mass titles.

Southwick is notable for not having a football team.
