Southwest Airport Services is a defense fuels contractor that operates out of a 12,500-square-foot (1,160 m²) facility at Ellington Field in the U.S. state of Texas. It offers services such as on-site car rentals, computerized weather systems and high-speed Internet access, as well as 330+ days of VFR flying conditions. It also provides fueling services for the military as well as training facilities.
Southwest Airport Services was established in 1985 by James R. Bath to manage the Houston Gulf Airport until it closed in 2002.
Allegations of overcharging the George H. W. Bush administration in 1990 and a lawsuit in 1994 by Bath's wife implicating monetary improprieties by Bath and his associates have marked this company. [1]
