Southgate Station is an LRT station currently under construction, with expected completion in 2009, as part of the Edmonton Transit System's South LRT Expansion Project. This project will add approximately 7.5 km of track and five stations to the LRT system in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.[1]

The Southgate Station site is located next to Southgate Centre (a shopping mall) and Southgate Transit Centre at 51 Avenue and 111 Street.

Current plans call for both the Southgate and Century Park Stations to open on April 25, 2010.[2]

When construction is complete, Southgate Station will be located between South Campus Station and Century Park Station. It will provide an important transit connection between southwest Edmonton neighbourhoods, the University of Alberta and downtown Edmonton. As of March 2007, work was already underway on the LRT right of way between South Campus and Southgate.[3]
