Southern Tier Brewing Company is an American microbrewery located in the town of Lakewood in New York's southern tier region near the Pennsylvania border. The brewery opened in 2004 with regional distribution. Southern Tier has grown quickly, and now claims distribution to over one-quarter of the United States.
Southern Tier's flagship beer is Phin & Matt's Extraordinary Ale. In addition to year-round and seasonal brews, Southern Tier produces a number of "Imperial" beers (typically sold in 22-ounce bomber bottles), such as Un*Earthly India Pale Ale and Big Red amber ale.
