The Southern Sting was a netball team based in Invercargill, New Zealand that competed in The National Bank Cup competition.
The Southern Sting team won the National Bank Cup seven times and is the only team to have competed in all 10 of the finals of this competition.
In 2008, the Sting were merged with Otago Rebels to compete as the Southern Steel in the trans-tasman ANZ Championship.

Robyn Broughton has been the coach of the Southern Sting since its debut in 1998. She has won 7 out of the 10 titles of the competition and has also coached the New Zealand Silver Ferns and A Squad. She is the new coach of the ANZ Championships Southern Steel.
