Southern Cross Hospital North Harbour

Southern Cross Hospital North Harbour is the only private surgical in-patient hospital in North Shore City, New Zealand. It is run by the Southern Cross health insurance / medical provider group, and was established in 1991.[1]

The facility has 67 beds and four operating theatres, with around 5,000 operations undertaken annually.[1] The hospital is currently (2007) undergoing expansion to add a fifth operating theatre, which will use 'laminar flow' procedures, and with 80 m² will be one of the largest in New Zealand.[2]
