Southern California University of Health Sciences is a private institute of higher education founded in 1911. It consist of the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and the College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. Its campus is in Whittier, California
Accreditation
SCU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), This accreditation is unequalled by any other alternative health care institution, offering chiropractic and acupuncture/oriental medicine programs, on the West Coast. The doctor of chiropractic degree program of the Southern California University of Health Sciences is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). The Doctor of Chiropractic Program is also approved by the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. SCU has received approval from WASC to offer a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM), and is approved by the California Acupuncture Board. The Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program of Southern California University of Health Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and oriental medicine practitioners.
