South Wimbledon is a place in the London Borough of Merton in south west London. Historically, it is the centre of the parish of Merton which contributes its name to the wider borough.

It is ten minutes walk from Wimbledon centre, and is most obviously recognised by the busy crossroads at which South Wimbledon Underground station is situated on one corner.

This crossroad leads from Wimbledon, to the north, across to Morden, south. East leads to Colliers Wood, whilst west leads towards Merton Park and Wimbledon Chase. The Underground station is the penultimate stop on the Northern Line before it terminates at Morden. The route north follows the road to Colliers Wood. The rapper Slick Rick was born in South Wimbledon and often mentions it in his lyrics.
