South View Middle School is a school in Edina, Minnesota. It and its sister school, Valley View Middle School, each take students from three of the six elementary schools in the Edina Public School District, or ISD273. It has recently increased in size, due to the addition(2004-2006) of the new "Kenneth E. Dragseth" wing, named after the former Superintendent of the district. The new wing includes a new auditorium, pool (named after swim coach Art Downey), locker rooms, health office, music wing, and gymnasium, as well as a number of new classrooms. The school teaches grades 6-9. The current Principal is Dr. Trevor Johnson, and the Vice Principal is Renee Van Gorp. The school colors are green and white and the school's athletic teams are known as the Hornets.
