South Riding, Virginia

South Riding is an unincorporated planned community in Chantilly, Virginia of southeastern Loudoun County, known as the "Dulles South" Region. Its current population is at around 15,000 people and is still growing as the community has not been completed yet. Neighboring U.S. Route 50 and State Route 28 provide access to the Dulles/Reston/Tysons Corner technology corridor and other major employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. South Riding opened in 1994.

In 2007 the average income per family was $150,000. The average for men was $93,000 and $50,000 for women.[citation needed]

South Riding has three elementary schools with a new one opening up in fall 2008, a high school, a public safety center, and a day care center. Ultimately, the community will also have a regional shopping center, office buildings, and hotel.
