South Kona Farms located in South Kona near Papa Bay on the Big Island of Hawai'i. It is off Milolii Road on Mamalahoa Highway. Originally it was a large portion of the Papa Bay Homestead and still retains about 7 acres of native Ohia forest. Mango, papaya and several different varieties of avocado trees can be found along with rose apple and passion fruit trees. In the forest, interesting remnants of the original farm can be found. Now they are odd piles of lava rock. Originally it was a tomato farm but now much of the open land produces Kona coffee. Sometimes on a clear night, you can see the Milky Way galaxy spread across the sky. It is an absolute joy to be there. More information and an email contact can be found at www.southkonafarms.com.
