South Homer Township is located in Champaign County, Illinois. The population was 1,585 at the 2000 census. Homer, Illinois is located in this township. The Salt Fork of the Vermilion River winds its way through the north west section of the township. The confluence of lies in a farm field, in section 19 of the township.
