Dancing, singing and drawing are all forms of art that are gravely appreciated by various students. This is why so many students opted for the V.A.P.A Academy more than any other academy on campus. The Visual and Performing Arts Academy allows students to participate in the arts, not only through electives, but also in customary classes. In an art history class, the teacher might focus on the music that was being created at the time or the painter that was producing masterpieces during that time period. V.A.P.A can be seen as an academy which focuses on the personal growth of the student. In this academy students are encouraged to fulfill their artistic desires. With the guidance of teachers, students have developed extracurricular activities that incorporate their passion for the arts such as poetry or music; which is the case of the infamous "Poetry Slam." One of the goals of V.A.P.A is to assist their students in their pursuit to better themselves as individuals and the community in which they live. Students who are part of V.A.P.A are devoted to creating not only their works of art, but also focusing on the arts at the high school level and beyond.
