South Carolina Department of Education - Instructional Television

The South Carolina Department of Education - Instructional Television (SCDE ITV) team, part of the Office of eLearning[1], works closely with South Carolina Educational Television (ETV)[2] to provide ITV resources and services to South Carolina public schools. ITV is responsible for the selection of video-based resources, the development of local programming to support the states K-12 curriculum, and the scheduling of the approved resources. ETV provides expert production and technical delivery services to support instructional programming. K-12 and Professional Development resources are now delivered both by broadcast through the ETV satellite system and online via StreamlineSC [3].
ITV has produced with ETV award-winning series such as Project Discovery and Eye Wonder. South Carolina focued resources including Detective Bonz, the SC History Mystery and Idella Bodie's SC Women Series are utilized to support the curriculum.
ITV also produces programs for our school communities! In Our Schools with State Education Superintendent Jim Rex features programs focusing on important educational initiatives that have proven successful in improving student achievement at schools in South Carolina, on our Red Carpet Schools and on our fine SC Teachers of the Year. Additioanlly, more than fourteen professional development series produced by the South Carolina Department of Education have been made available by broadcast and online for teachers and administrators.
