South Beach (nightclub)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

South Beach is an after hours nightclub located in Houston, Texas within the Neartown area which opened in 2002 on the former site of Club Heaven. The 10,000 square foot dance club located at 810 Pacific Street is popular among the city's gay community.[1] In 2007, the club was voted Houston's Best Gay Bar by AOL City Guide.[2] The club was previously awarded as one of the "Best of 2006" by the Houston Press.[3]

Among South Beach’s many features is a full color water cooled matrix laser light show utilizing Kryogen Ifex liquid ice Jets that spray out a thick cloud of nitrogen. The ice jets have the ability to reduce the temperature of the club by 20 degrees in a few seconds. [4] Additionally, the club also features go-go boys.

South Beach is owned by Charles Armstrong of Charles Armstrong Investments, which also owns a number of other gay venues in the same area, including JR's Bar & Grill, Montrose Mining Co., and Meteor.
