YEAR NO. TITLE
2005 000 Constitution Twelfth Amendment Act, No. 0 of 2005 (No Act number allocated)
This Act amends the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, so as to effect a technical change; to re-determine the geographical areas of the nine provinces of the Republic of South Africa; and to provide for matters connected therewith;

It's amendments specify conditions under which provincial boundaries can be re-determined;

This Act also inserts a useful Schedule 1A in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, showing the geographical areas of provinces;
The changing of provincial boundaries in South Africa increasingly during the 2005 and 2006 period became a political issue, because a number of local populations were redefined as falling within provinces where the capacity of the provincial administrations to provide for basic services to the affected populations was less than the province the local population had fallen within before that re-definition.

- The National Credit Act of South Africa came into effect this year on the 01 June 2007. This credit act was brought in due to South Africa's current problems with regards to loaning for credit to consumers. A major issue South Africans currently have is that loan sharks are lending out money to people at 30% interest. Banks are dishing out credit left right and centre and South Africans are falling into the debt trap. Wizard Fincial services has put together a portal which is now the number one online resource for South Africans. See South Africa's National Credit Act Portal
