The Souffel is a river that rises near Kuttolsheim and joins the Ill river, (a tributary of the Rhine), south of Wantzenau after a course of 27 km. It has given its name to two villages on its banks Souffelweyersheim and of Griesheim-sur-Souffel (Griesheim-on-Souffel). The Souffel tributaries are Haltbach, Plaetzerbach, Musaubach, Kolbsenbach[1] and Leisbach.
