Sotang is a village in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Sotang [सोताङ]: Sotang is one of the villages scattered in the district of Solukhumbu, Sagarmatha zone in Nepal. In other word, it can be said "Sotang" is a village in Mount Everest region. The word "Sotang" is derived from "Sotto". Sotto was an anscestor of a Kirant dynasty in the region. Currently, the inhabitant of Sotang are mainly Rai, Chhetri, Kami, Sherpa, Tamang, Brahmin, Damai, Gurung etc.

  "Dachhelu" is a major village located in Sotang. This name was also derived from the name of a Kirant king who belonged to Natsiring Kirant dynasty.
  This author was born in Dachhelu of Sotang village of Solukhumbu, Nepal.
