The Sorsogon State College (SSC) is the former Sorsogon College of Arts and Trades (SCAT), one of the oldest trade schools in the Philippines. It was established as Sorsogon Trade school in 1907 before it was renamed Sorsogon College of Arts and Trades. After eighty six (86) years of existence, the school was converted into a state college by virtue of Republic Act No. 7666, which was approved in December 31, 1993 by President Fidel V. Ramos.
