Sorin Frunza is a romanian football player currently playing for FC Vaslui. He started his career ar Dunarea Galati, and after a few years at Cimentul Fieni, Poli Timisoara and Jiul Petrosani, he signed for FC Vaslui, when the team was in the 3rd Division. He suceeded in promotion with Vaslui, and he became the team captain because of his good evolutions.

In the 2004/2005 summer, he signed for Universitatea Craiova, but he stayed there only half of season, after that he returned at Vaslui, where he suceeded promotion for the first time in history club, in Liga I.

He played only half of the season at FC Vaslui in the 2005/2006 season, an injury causing him troubles for playing in that season. In the next season, he played only 2 matches, because a conflict with the coach Viorel Hizo, and in the second part of the season, he was loanded to FC Botosani.

He returned in the next season, where he was chosen vice-captain from the team, after Bogdan Panait. Because of his good performance, he was named captain of the team, and he was one of the best assisters from the Championship. He scored 2 goals in the FC Vaslui 2-1 victory agains the champions, Dinamo Bucuresti, and he scored one of the most beautifull goals from the Romanian Championship history, against Universitatea Craiova, recovering in his own half, and after dribling 3 players, he shot with his right foot, right to the bottom corner.

But the disaster was after that game. He was suspected by the FC Vaslui owner, Adrian Porumboiu, that he would sold the game for Steaua Bucuresti, after what he played very poor. He was relegated in the 4th Division, and was put on the transfer list. The captaincy was also retired, and named for Cristian Hăisan.
