Self-taken photo by James Zetlen, from the Sorry Everybody website. Photo taken in the photographer's home in Los Angeles, California on November 3, 2004, just after the 2004 U.S. presidential election (which had been held a day earlier, on November 2, 2004).

The photo, by James Zetlen, the creator of the Sorry Everybody website, was the first of its kind and inspired thousands more similar contributions from U.S. citizens, all apologizing to the world in advance for the actions of George W. Bush (who had just been reelected for a second four-year term) over the next four years. Zetlen compiled a gallery of 8,000 of these photos on his website and published a 256-page book containing approximately 1,000 of them, entitled Sorry Everybody: An Apology to the World for the Re-election of George W. Bush.

This image is copyrighted. The copyright holder allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that James Zetlen (the photographer) and http://www.sorryeverybody.com/ are credited. NOTE: The following conditions must not include terms which restrict usage to educational or not-for-profit purposes or prohibit derivatives. Details about the above note... Aside from a limited set of exceptions Wikipedia only accepts free content, meaning anyone must be allowed to use and modify it for any purpose. Restrictions on how or where the image can be used, such as non-commercial use only, or use for educational purposes only, or even use on Wikipedia only is not permitted. Neither are restrictions that say you are not allowed to modify the image. Such restrictions make the image non-free and images with such restrictions should not be tagged with this template. I'm one of the thousands of volunteer editors at the English-language Wikipedia. I just found the page about your website:

I notice that the article does not yet have an image, and wonder whether you might be amenable to releasing a photo under a free license. I'm thinking that it would simply be one of the thousands of photos sent to you (with the consent of the photographer, of course), which you think is the best or most representative one.

All the photos we received were in response to the original photo I took of myself, so I suppose you could say mine is the most representative. It's also the one I feel safest sharing!
