Soquel High School is a high school in Soquel, California, located on Old San Jose Road. It currently has 1,215 students and was established in 1962. The school is operated by the Santa Cruz City High School District.
SHS offers advanced placement classes in Biology, Chemistry, English, Spanish, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Economics, and Calculus. SHS is known for its Regional Occupations Program (ROP) which includes courses in Horticulture, Floristry, Veterinary Science, Sports Occupations, Administration of Justice, Cabinetry, Marketing, and Computer Graphics. SHS also offers a Humanities Academy, which provides a rigorous program for academically motivated students in English and Social Studies. The school symbol is Knight.
Basketball star Tomas Thompson, Football star Dwight Lowery and legendary keyboardist Derek Sherinian are alumni.
