Soqotri is the native language of the island of Socotra off the southern coast of Yemen. It is a South Semitic language. Soqotri speakers are only rarely found in the Yemeni mainland. This makes the language isolated from the rest of Yemen. Arabic is also spoken on Socotra. [1]
