Sophie (software)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sophie is a software system for the authoring and viewing of electronic documents. It promises to allow the seamless creation of attractively formatted electronic books that combine text with images, videos, slide shows and other types of media; readers can use the software to annotate or even edit books.[1]

The software is being developed by the Institute for the Future of the Book. The first version was released in March 2008 under an open source BSD license. It runs on multiple platforms as it is written in the Squeak programming language.
